This coin is created for The Free Lakota Bank, the world's first non-reserve, non-fractional bank that issues, accepts for deposit, and circulates REAL money...silver and gold. It is labeled as the currency of the free and independent Lakota nation.

The Lakota Silver Medallion

The Lakota $50 is a one ounce .999 fine silver minted medallion. It is superbly crafted, struck a minimum of (3) three times by a sovereign nation. A timeless piece of art. This coin is a beautiful collectable, and a sound investment.

This coin commemorates the proud fighting spirit of Crazy Horse, the dedicated defender of the Lakota nation. The front of the coin features a rendering of Crazy Horse, mounted on his war stallion and armed for battle. The back of the coin features the American buffalo.

Crazy Horse was born in 1838 in the territory of South Dakota. Less than forty years old when he died at the hands of U.S. Army soldiers, he spent his life fighting to preserve his people's traditional way of life. In 1876, when the U.S. government decreed that all Lakota tribes return to their reservations, Crazy Horse led the resistance. At the Battle of Little Big Horn that same year, he commanded several thousand Sioux warriors in a stunning surprise victory over General Custer's forces.

Lakota silver can be circulated in the American Open Currency Standard private merchant barter network.

Sold elsewhere on the internet at up to $40, available through Stumptown Publishing for less than $25. (Price varies slightly with the silver market.)
