HOOFIN'
AROUND WV
By Jim Brandenburg
January 2008 - Kenya
Osbourne
Keyona Osborne turns five years old
this month. She resides in Wyoming County, and last
year, she enjoyed the horse show in Jesse, where she has
ridden in the lead-line class for two years now.
On September 29th 2007 she won the
"Best Dressed Cowgirl" award and a big trophy! The show
had a huge gathering of horse folks from Virginia and
Kentucky. With family and friends hollering, "Number 22,
judge!" Keyona made the expression seen in this photo.
Because she is so small, Keyona
brushes the horse's legs, feet and belly. She's very
energetic, loves feeding and watering the animals. When
done with her chores, she likes to color with her
crayons and watch cartoons, and playing with her Barbie
dolls. She likes pizza and is a big chicken nugget fan!
Keyona gets support from her horse show family;
Aunts, Uncles, Grandpa and of course Mom and Dad. Look
for her later this year at the horse show in Jesse. The
show is held twice monthly, May through October.
