-- Shampooing your hair daily robs it
of moisture, leads to "frizz," and causes you to spend
more money to buy products to bring back softness and
shine.
-- You fingernails need to be
moisturized to keep them from breaking easily. Massage
them with baby oil a few times a week. It’s inexpensive
and works.
-- Smoking cigarettes slows down the
rate at which your muscles produce protein. The strength
lost leads to poor balance and fractures.
-- You can use house wares purchased
at yard sales, such as muffin tins, ice cream dishes or
large mugs, to brighten your kitchen all spring and
summer. Just plant some herb seeds or small flowers in
them. Not expensive, but looks good.
-- Making sun tea not only saves time
and energy, but also keeps the tea from having a strong
taste.
-- Buying in bulk saves time, money
and trips to the store. Make sure you store it securely
for longer storage time.
-- A small dark bathroom will
brighten if you add a medium sized fancy mirror and a
pretty light fixture. Look for each in second-hand
stores.
-- A pretty glass bowl filled with
brightly colored buttons makes an attractive,
inexpensive centerpiece. Fill the bowl with marbles,
potpourri, pine cones, etc.
-- You should always wear gloves
while working in the yard. They might just keep you from
cuts, scratches; from band aids to tetanus shots -- all
which cost more than a pair of gloves.
-- In order to combat the stress of
life, you need "me" time. Set aside five minutes a day
to sit down, put your feet up, close your eyes and
completely relax. It’s the cheapest therapy you’ll find.
