RECIPES FROM MOM

It's hot outside since July is here.
This is an exciting time of year.
Vacations and time in the sun,
anything you do seems to be fun.
You cook outside and that's where you eat.
Every little thing seems like a treat.
hot dogs over fire sure taste fine.
The old picnic table is a good place to dine.
As I remember when I was a kid,
I like to cook as my mom did.
Summer meals were good served cool.
something light before getting in the pool.
A sandwich with a fresh tomato hit the spot.
with a gallon of potato salad in a pot.
deviled eggs are always in style,
and will fill you up and last awhile.
Grab your favorite and get it fast,
cause you know mom's cooking, it goes fast!

Mom's Potato Salad

Cut six potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Cook until tender. Let cool. Add 1 sweet diced onion, 2 stalks of diced celery, 1 cup of relish (or your favorite pickles). Mix together 2 cups miracle whip or mayonnaise, 1 cup of milk, 2 tsp mustard, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp celery seed and pepper to taste. Stir mixtures into cooled potatoes.
