RECIPES FROM MOM

By Lisa Cooper Laughlin
(taught by Helen Cooper Burns)

Spring time is my favorite time of the year.
It's the start of a brand new year.
A new beginning for 2008.
This is going to be the year. It's going to be great!
The seeds are sprouted and now in soil to grow.
The pots in the window sills ready to go.
Ready to plow the garden and stir the earth.
Spring rains coming will cure it's thirst.
Soon we will be eating fresh vegetables and fruit.
Kids love them and I think it's cute.
Fresh fruit and vegetables keeps you healthy and fit.
How much better can life get!

Mom's Fruit Salad

Apple of your choice cup of watermelon

fresh peach cup of grapes

cup of cantelope pear

kiwi banana

Cut fruit up in one inch pieces, mix and chill. Serve as a snack or with your meals. Get creative and add marshmallows or nuts or whip cream! It's all about what you like.
