RECIPES FROM MOM

After sitting inside all winter days,
I see signs of spring and am hoping it stays.
I venture outside to see if it's warm.
Looking for signs of life that's been reborn.
The grass has turned greener with each new blade.
Look at this beautiful earth god has made!
The sky is light blue as a few light clouds move by.
It's a long way to heaven, it's looks so high.
The mountains and tree tops look so far away.
Everything looks beautiful on this warm spring day.
We can start planting a garden for food fresh to eat.
Until it's ready, let's try something neat.

Mom’s Fresh Doughnuts

Using canned biscuit dough, take a small lid (from a vanilla bottle for example) and cut the center out of the biscuits. Drop the rings into a skillet of hot grease and brown to golden on each side (about 1 minute each side). Put on paper towels. While hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar for powdered donuts.

If you like chocolate, use fudge toppings. Get creative! You can make a glaze by mixing 1 cup powered sugar with 2-3 tsp milk depending on how thick you like glaze. You can also add sprinkles or coconut.

Don't forget to cook the center doughnut holes!
